Formula First Collision Celebrates Canada Day

Posted on June 27th, 2014

Formula First Collision raised our new Canadian flag earlier this month. It was not an easy process, using the efforts of the  majority of the Formula First Team. The flag will proudly fly just in time for Canada Day Celebrations this year.  Take a drive by our property and have a look for yourself!

Tips for Teaching Your Teen How to Drive

Posted on June 18th, 2014

Watch and observe. Let your teen sit in the front seat and explain the basics to them. Describe what you are doing while driving, and why you are doing it.

Test their knowledge. Ask them to tell you what the road signs mean. Test them on the rules of the road and explain in detail everything they did not know or understand.

Find a LARGE empty parking lot. Let them give it a go in a low risk area. Have them start very slow and explain in detail what they should be doing. BE PATIENT! Don’t yell or get annoyed when they do something wrong. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Ease out of the parking lot. After your teen has mastered the basics allow them to try it out on the road. Start with low speeds in a low traffic area.

Slowly move onto more difficult tasks. After your teen has had adequate experience try out busier neighbourhoods. Let them see what it is like to drive at night. Lastly, ease into highway driving.

Debrief.  Let your teen know what they did well and what they need to work on. Make sure to set off some of the negative feedback with positive feedback.

Lastly, set an example. Talking on your cell phone, texting, speeding,  and yelling at other drivers lets your teen know that it is OK to practice this behaviour. When your teen is in the car with you, drive they way you would want them to drive.

NHL Star Bobby Hull Visits Club Il Cavallino

Posted on June 6th, 2014

This past Saturday we had the pleasure of meeting former NHL Star Bobby Hull. He came in with a friend to enjoy lunch at out Bistro. Bobby Hull is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. During his career (1957-1980), Bobby played for the Chicago Black Hawks, Winnipeg Jets, Hartford Whalers, WHA, and the Canada National Team.

We hope to see him again in the near future!                                                                                                                                            IMG_1417 IMG_1418
